bara chirashi, hiyamugi, tempura, and miso; diced assorted sashimi, egg, fish flakes, vegetables over rice;

We also stopped by Suika Seattle, a Japanese izakaya. We sat at the bar by the kitchen so we got to see each dish as it came out. That was a fun, and the dishes had a fun pop of flavor.

chicken kara-age; marinated fried chicken thigh with house made hellz sauce on side.

sockeye salmon carpaccio; thinly sliced sockeye salmon with wasabi mayo, yuzu tobiko, ikura, garlic chips and sesame soy.

5 kinds sashimi; yellowfin tuna, sockeye salmon, hamachi, octopus, and scallop.

For the most part, the sushi up north was nothing to write home about. We thought for sure that Sushi Kashiba would be different-- that it would be an amazing experience with melt in your mouth sushi. However, it ended up being the biggest disappointment as we were both unimpressed. When the appetizer tastes better than the sushi, something is definitely wrong. Beautiful plates, mediocre tastes.

seasonal appetizer;

kashiba deluxe nigiri set; lean tuna, fatty tuna, marinated tuna, yellowtail, herring, snapper, king salmon, king crab, fresh water eel, chef's choice rolls.

When we landed, the first stop we made (even before going home) was to one of our favorites, Sugarfish. To make things even better, the anniversary edition Don't Think. Just Eat. was still available so we had to order that. Ohh, there's no place like home! ♥
