Every time we do spring cleaning (and summer, and fall, and winter...), there's always the hope that one day we'll be able to live a little more minimalistically. But this year looks promising as we donated about two thirds of our clothes. Now the real test will be trying not to fill up all the empty space with more stuff.

Early this month, we took a trip to visit family in Denver. ♥ It was quite the adventure at the airports both ways-- delays, delays, and ohh, running to the gate and barely making it. We basically spent all day at the airport, but that gave us time to find some geocaches (adventure labs), talk to the flight attendants, and get 10,000 steps.

One spot we wanted to try was Coffeegraph and it was delicious.

hojicha latte; with smoked vanilla syrup.
hojicha latte; with pandan syrup.
spiced chai; cold-brewed in oat milk.
japanese-style iced pour over coffee.

It was also fun learning how to make suncakes and chinese chive boxes. It was also so yummy too! ♥

It was nice to hang out with family and eat together at The Golden Mill.

al pastor baja bowl; mexican white rice, pico de gallo, grilled corn, tortilla strips, cabbage salad, and cilantro.

Everyone picked their own flavors at Gelato Boy. We liked the Coffee Chip, Dark Chocolate, and Salty Cookies & Cream the most.

It was also a nice change of pace for us to go out and walk around the Big Easy Trailhead.

"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these."
Matthew 6:28-29

"Roads go ever ever on,
Over rock and under tree,
By caves where never sun has shone,
By streams that never find the sea;
Over snow by winter sown,
And through the merry flowers of June,
Over grass and over stone,
And under mountains in the moon."
J.R.R. Tolkien

This month was filled with many ups and downs.
But trust the Lord for what He says is true.
We heard a speech that mentioned Shakespeare's name,
And thought it fun to write in measured lines.
So take a look at what this month was like,
Since photos often speak beyond our words.

We bought more sheets of stamps for the designs,
They were too lovely for us to resist.

We brought our girls to places new to them,
We ate our fill of meat and tasty sides.

We brought home flowers, bright and freshly cut.
Which brought a smile to faces worn by stress,

For our newly stocked fridge gave up on us,
Its humming ceased; the contents got so warm.

We felt the call to teach our kids at home,
And met some families who encouraged us.

We made the time to hunt for caches close.
One gave us pause, but still we found it there.

The days were long, but we made time for play.
With crafts and games, we spent the hours well.

If there is one thing more we need, it’s sleep.
But we can’t have it all — who really can?

happy birthday! ♥

Our little extrovert is now 3 years old-- always the life of the party and the one that gets everyone laughing. Life really is sweeter with this one around. This year, she requested a strawberry themed birthday with a mango cake and her auntie delivered.
